Pristine Shimla Wedding With The Bride In An Unconventional Wedding Lehenga

Intro

Destination Wedding in the hills is like a dream, couple Shruti & Dikshant today had the wedding of their dreams at this beautiful Heritage Resort in Shimla; The Woodville Palace. Though not a conventional destination wedding for the bride as it’s her hometown, but definitely for the groom tribe who came all the way from Uttrakhand to bring home Dikshant’s bride.

Meet Shruti & Dikshant

Shruti is an engineer and an artist and enjoys creating artwork. Dikshant works in Aerospace and Defence and loves adventure and sports. They stay in South West England and are deeply connected to their Indian roots. Well, their love for their home is easily visible in Shruti’s art. They both met on a group tour to Manali and Dikshant instantly felt the connection and the need to know her more and that’s how their journey began and today they share their lives together.

It was Shruti who wanted to get married at WoodVille Palace Hotel, after seeing Rubina Dilaik’s scenic wedding pictures. She had made up her mind that whenever she gets married it’s going to be Woodville Palace and literally had the feel of Destination Wedding in her hometown.

The Decor

The decor theme was in shades of peach with floral arrangements.
Shruti says, ” We romanticised on the idea of grandeur, old world charm and of-course the mountains with their vast natural beauty. The lights from pink hanging spheres to fairy lights to filtered sunlight created an ethereal charm. Being right in the middle of monsoons it was a huge risk to have an outdoor wedding but Thank God! for no rains! To me it was my fairytale wedding”

Haldi & Mehendi

Shruti kept it all pop and color for her Mehendi and Haldi Ceremony and stuck to the yellow and green  colours for both the ceremonies.

Shruti’s wedding outfit is truly unique, infact we think the entire look for the wedding is very unconventional as you see Indian Brides adorned in red, pinks and pastels for the wedding along with heavy jewellery and choora. Shruti wore a  metallic grey outfit instead and coordinated with similar minimal jewellery and silver bangles for the wedding. Dikshant looked dapper in ivory and peach Sherwani and looked like a prince.

On the Outfit Shruti says ” I looked at this gorgeous outfit at a boutique store in Chandigarh which was a gown and had it customised to my wedding lehenga.”

The Reception was held in Dehradun at Regenta LP Vilas by Royal Orchid Hotels. The planning was done by in-house vendors. The decor was kept floral with lots of peaches, beige and gold hues giving it a soft glam which enhanced the golden glowy shades. Shruti & Dikshant were well coordinated with the theme of the Reception.
