“Who doesn’t dream of a Bollywood sequence when its about witnessing a cross-cultural wedding?  That’s exactly how a vivacious South Indian girl found a soulmate in her Maharashtrian friend. We dated almost for about 9 years before taking a final plunge, crossing all the hurdles for our happily ever after. Yes, you are right ours was an intimate 2 states wedding with close family and friends.

Our Friends always impelled us in believing that we will go a long way and came up with a cool hashtag for us i.e #Misalidli. Despite of the cultural barriers we share our parents and family without any prejudice accepted it wholeheartedly and made it so pure and easy for us through the entire process. The fusion-wedding was full of elements from Maharashtrian and Tulu Bunts weddings.”- says the bride.

Quirky Wedding Invite

“I always wanted to add a personal touch to my wedding, so I curated and did many things on my own. I created a fun e-invite on my own using the Canva app.”- says Rakshita.

“Our was a 2 days affair of intimate 2 states wedding with close friends and family. On the first day, we had a haldi function with Maharashtrian touch to it with floral decoration and in the evening we had a DJ night for friends to dance their heart out. The second day commenced with a ‘Tulu Bunt” south Indian wedding. At first, we had Muhuratham rituals followed by Kanyadanam. All our friends and cousins decided to get dressed up in south Indian attire.”- says the bride.

Haldi

“For Haldi, the groom chose to wear a simple white kurta-pyjama paired with a yellow cross-buttoned jacket. While I wore a simple orange-yellow lehenga which I bought from a local shop from Mangaldas Market, Mumbai. I also DIY’d my haldi floral jewelry by taking inspiration from various wedding blogs.”- says the bride.
