A Beautiful Wedding Story Of A Bride In Electric Pink Lehenga!

Bollywood has always been a great source of inspiration behind beautiful love stories whether it’s of celebrities or Bollywood fans. And here we are with one of the cutest love stories where Suvarna & Rebant love for Bollywood united their souls forever. The two had a grand wedding in Delhi & left us mesmerized with their wedding pictures. Our lovely bride Suvarna just raised the wedding outfits bar by her sassiest green colored gown with a slit for Mehndi & fabuluous electric pink lehenga for wedding.

Meet Suvarna & Rebant

How we met:

“Rebant and I (Suvarna) met in New York City. We both went to Ivy League schools and we met during an Ivy League Networking event. We started dating in November 2017 and got married on 8 th October 2019 in New Delhi. I have been born and brought up in India and only went to the US in 2016 to do my Masters. Rebant has been born and brought up in the US but has grown up watching Bollywood films. So, when we first met, we actually started talking about movies and our love for Bollywood and look where we are now!”- says the bride.

Wedding Fiesta

“Rebant and I both live in the US so we wanted the décor to be more western. We had all western weddings as our inspiration, since they work with greens, golden and white. This was consistent with all our wedding functions. We didn’t want to have over-the-top lighting or decorations, so we used mainly fairly lights, candles and warm white light as the lighting for all our events. Our outfits were chosen first before we finalize the lighting and that helped us to ensure our outfit colors don’t clash with the lighting and décor. Our wedding planners, Zariya and Sumaaroh were able to execute our vision to perfection.”- says the bride.

Mehendi

“I did try different looks for different events. I had 10 functions overall. Most of these functions were pooja’s for which I wore sarees. For the Mehendi, I wanted to wear something different and ended up choosing a gown, which I got custom made in the US.”- says the bride.

Haldi

For Haldi, the bride looked as pretty as picture in yellow-colored saree paired with floral jewelry. She kept her makeup minimal & her beautiful smile completed the looks.

Dandiya

“Since our wedding festivities were in the midst of Navratri, we had a Dandiya event as well for which I wore a Lemon-Golden Lehenga paired with floral hathphools. “-says the bride.

Engagement & Cocktail

The engagement and cocktail function, on 7 th October, was the most fun. We had an official formal party from 7 pm to 11 pm and then an after-party with just our closest friends which was really fun. It was a super casual affair and everyone was in their pj’s dancing to 90’s Bollywood music! It was amazing to see everyone letting their guards down and since we had a lot of friends from abroad, it was great seeing them dance to Bollywood music!

I wore an electric blue lehenga for my engagement & cocktail. And it was my favorite look. My consultant, Zariya, my makeup artist Deepika Ahuja and my hairstylist Dev Kumar did a great job in making my vision into a reality.

Wedding

Suvarna was dressed to kill in an exquisite electric pink lehenga at her wedding. She paired the beautiful outfit with broad matha Patti & choker necklace. While Rebant looked royal in a cream-colored sherwani with floral print along with peach-colored dupatta. The two just looked regal in their wedding attires.

Inspiration Behind Wedding Planning 

“Just like everyone else, I have been creating Pinterest boards for a while now. I watched a lot of videos to understand wedding planning and even got some wedding planning books. I think this is an essential step that many couples that are planning a wedding miss out on. We used the worksheets from these wedding planning books/apps to narrow down our vision and find things that both Rebant (the groom) and I liked. That is how we decided on the color scheme for all the events. We then decided on a color scheme for our clothes and worked our way backward. I must say having a wedding planner is very important, especially for the couples who stay outside India, as in our case.” -says the bride.

A Quick Tip By Bride

Take help from your friends! My friends were there with me throughout, right from finding inspiration for décor to outfit. You can’t do everything alone and even when you have a wedding planner, you need help in communicating your visions. I couldn’t have done my wedding planning, sitting in New York, without my friends!
